Review: Favela – Kerameikos

Favela is a real gem of a restaurant in the Kerameikos/Metaxourgeio part of Athens Centre. In an area bursting with top quality restaurants and eateries, Favela stands out with fantastically tasty food, a great atmosphere, friendly staff and a decent price range.

Based on a modern interpretation of Cretan cuisine, Favela offers a sensibly sized menu of small little dishes for you to share with your table. The frequently change their menu as well so that each time you go you have something else tasty to try!

We found that, for two people, a salad, 2/3 “starters” and one main course was enough to fill you to the brim.

The must try dishes at Favela have to be the feta wrapped in Kadaifi (see video above!!), the smoked Apaki, the omelette stuffed with Kavourma and the pan-fried pork chops!

The restaurant itself is a cute place, a little bit confused maybe in its decor but the cosy atmosphere, great music and super friendly staff mean that this will be an experience you won’t forget!

We (two people) had wine with our meal and the bill came to around 35 Euros.

Fantastic food at a good price, Favela is well worth a visit!
